What steps do I need to take to prepare my negatives?

These instructions pertains to Silver and Gold orders only.  Bronze service does not include folders for each group of negatives.

The number of folders allowed under the Silver and Gold service levels is an AVERAGE of 2 for every 100 images.  If you require additional folders for your project they will be billed at a rate of $4.00 for each folder in excess of the 2 per 100.

It would really help us out if you would put the film for each folder/chapter (about 50 frames on average) in a quart sized Ziploc bag and label the bag with a magic marker with the title you would like the directory to be named. You also need to identify the order that the bags should be scanned in.

Create an instruction sheet that will outline the group ordering and the name of each group.  These names will become the folder names on your CDs and Data DVDs.  If you order the DVD Video Slide Show, these names will also be used as your chapter names on the video.

Please type the instruction sheet or make sure that the your handwriting is very legible.

Due to the folder naming restrictions and the small amount of space on the DVD menus you must limit the group names to no more than 32 characters including all spaces.

For example: If the earliest group of photos were from Christmas 1945, the bag should be labeled "1 - 1945 Christmas". The number at the beginning will determine the sorting of the folders/chapters.

Once the film is cut and mounted, we will take the mounted frames and place them back into the bag they came out of and return them to you. It might seem that a quart sized bag is bigger than necessary but we need the quart sized bags because of the plastic mounts.

The mounted film will be returned to you in the same Ziploc bag which should make your job or re-organization easier as well. Due to our mounting process, we are not able to maintain a specific sequence within a given folder.
