Things to Know

Below shows the maximum number of negative frames we can have on a MF strip
(depending on the size of the frame.)

2.25" x 1.75" - 3 frames max
2.25" x 2.25" - 3 frames max
2.25" x 2.75" - 2 frames max
2.25" x 3.00" - 2 frames max
2.25" x 3.25" - 2 frames max
2.25" x 3.75" - 2 frames max

We can accommodate Medium Format Negative film strips 8" in length. It is rare, but if the film is submitted in strips too long for scanning, it will be cut so there are fewer frames in the strip to accommodate the film scanning process.

Medium Format pricing covers film that is up to 2.25"x3.75" in size. Anything larger will be billed as Large Format Film.

For every strip of Medium Format Negative Film (MF) you send us, you must have all frames scanned. We will not skip frames.

Medium Format Film (MF) or 120, 220 Film can come in either mounted (slide) or un-mounted (negative) film. The pricing is the same whether it has a mount or not.

Carded Medium Format Film

All Medium Format film must be given to us loose. It cannot be carded or attached to anything that would prevent it be being secured in the film holder. The entire film must be exposed and free of any objects. If film is sent carded, or attached to anything else, it will incur a $2.00 per frame fee.

Scanning Resolution

Scanning Resolution is one of the most important factors in determining the quality of your digital image. Scanning Resolution is similar to the concept of megapixels on a digital camera.

The higher your scanning resolution, the higher your quality. See a sample of different scanning resolutions.

CD vs DVD

Having your Medium Format Films scanned to a disc? You will need to decide if you want a CD or a DVD. A data CD is just like a data DVD, the quality is the exact same. The only difference is that a data DVD holds more data than a CD. So if your order form indicated that you need more than 1 CD, it would be less expensive for you if you chose to have your digital images saved to a data DVD instead.

If you want your Medium Format Films scanned and saved onto a VIDEO DVD, you will want to order a DVD Video Slideshow.

The Cloud - Online Access

Now customers don't need to wait for their discs in the mail to receive their scanned Medium Format Film images. We will upload your images to Google Drive where you can download them to your home computer.
