Scanning Method
In the past we have used the Nikon 5000 to scan our APS film using the Nikon APS adapters. Unfortunately the APS adapters were not compatible with Kodak film which caused damage to the equipment and risked damage to customers film. Because we could never risk the safety of customers film, we have changed our scanning methods. We now take the film out of the canister, cut the film into strips of 4 and scan it on the Nikon 5000 scanners. Once we have finished scanning, all film strips will be placed into negative sheet holders to keep it protected.

Things to Know
APS Frame Restrictions
We are not able to skip frames in an APS canister; we must scan all the frames. We bill based off frames, not by the canister. So if you have a 15 exposure canister, you will be billed for 15 scans.
Black and White Film
Digital Ice Infrared Clean does not work on Black and White Film. We can still scan Black and White film, but dust, scratches and fingerprints may show up in the scan. Our Scanning Service Includes:
Scanning Resolution
Scanning Resolution is one of the most important factors in determining the quality of your digital image. Scanning Resolution is similar to the concept of megapixels on a digital camera. The higher your scanning resolution, the higher your quality. See a sample of different scanning resolutions.
Professional Equipment
We use the Nikon 5000 film scanner for our APS Films, which provides significantly higher quality than flat bed scanners.View Examples
CD vs DVD
Having your APS Films scanned to a disc? You will need to decide if you want a CD or a DVD. A data CD is just like a data DVD, the quality is the exact same. The only difference is that a data DVD holds more data than a CD. So if your order form indicated that you need more than 1 CD, it would be less expensive for you if you chose to have your digital images saved to a data DVD instead. If you want your APS Films scanned and saved onto a VIDEO DVD, you will want to order a DVD Video Slideshow.
The Cloud - Online Access

Advanced Photo System (APS) Negative Film Facts
Advanced Photo System (APS) is a negative film format for still photography first produced in 1996. It was marketed by Eastman Kodak under the brand name Advantix, by FujiFilm under the name Nexia, by AgfaPhoto under the name Futura and by Konica as Centuria. APS Negative Film is available in 40, 25 and 15 exposure lengths. The APS Negative film surface has a transparent magnetic coating, and the camera uses this information exchange (IX) system for recording information about each exposure. Unlike 135 film, processed (developed) APS Negative film is stored in the original cartridge. For identification, every roll of APS Negative film has a six-digit ID code on the label, which is also stored magnetically and is visible on either end of the processed negative.
