Digital Conversion of 15 and 25 exposure rolls of APS Film to CD or DVD. Optical scanning resolutions at 2000, 3000, and 4000 dpi using Nikon Coolscan 5000 scanners.
File format options include either JPEG ( jpg ) or TIFF ( tif ).
We offer three levels of service for our film scanning: Bronze II, Silver and Gold.
We understand the value of your film and we also know this should be a once in a lifetime expenditure. We promise to take care of your film as if it
were our own treasured memories. And we will do everything in our power to ensure that the quality is unsurpassed so that we
will never have an unsatisfied customer.
All APS Film are scanned on state of the art Nikon 5000 scanners.
The images are automatically reversed to give a brilliant positive image.
Restrictions:
1. For every roll of film you send us, you must have all frames scanned. We cannot skip frames.
2. We will not work with negatives that have anything attached to them, even along the sprocket holes. You must remove any plastic, adhesive strips, etc., before shipping your negatives to us.
3. APS Film conversion service is limited to 25 and 15 exposure lengths only. We are not able to accept 40 exposure rolls at this time.
Our new on-line Image Organization System makes organizing your scans a simple task; avoiding the need to identify and arrange your slides, negatives, and photos ahead of time.
Bronze II Processing
Our Bronze II Processing service is designed for the DIY do it yourself customer that wants to take control of the final image adjustments using PhotoShop or other image editing software.
Our Bronze II Processing service includes the following:
Infrared dust & scratch reduction (ICE)
Auto cropping to eliminate the border from the film edges (Note: With
Bronze II service a few crops might be missed and the edge of the film could
show in the corners and along one or more edge of the image.)
Image Rotation as required
Single folder. Additional folders are $4.00 each
Files will be named in sequence.
(Image 0001, Image 0002, Image 0003, etc.)
- Custom File Naming is Available. Click
Here to learn more.
Probably not print or video ready if film is old and faded – but ready for final adjustments in Photo Shop, Paint Shop, etc.
Our Silver Processing service is designed for the general population who want a cost effective solution to digitizing their photo collection but do not want to be involved in the final image adjustments and/or want the DVD Video created at the same time as the scanning. This process produces
very acceptable digital images for print & video in most situations.
Our Silver Processing service includes the following with NO additional cost to you:
Infrared dust & scratch reduction (ICE)
Manual cropping to eliminate the border from the film edge
Automated Post Scan Image adjustments (color / contrast) and some manual
corrections to images.
Image Rotation as required
Burn to Disc
Maximum of 1 folders for every 50 images on average. Additional folders are $4.00
each
Within each folder the files will be named in sequence.
(Image 0001, Image 0002,
Image 0003, etc.)

Print and Video Ready 1
Note 1 : Print and Video Ready assurance can only be achieved if slides/negatives are in relatively good condition. Both our Silver and Gold services apply color and fade restoration when required, but in some extreme cases where the dyes in the film have faded too far, even the best digital enhancement will fail to fully recover the original scene.
Mold and Mildew can also present problems.
Our Gold Plus Service includes the same services as our Silver Service PLUS the following value added services:
Grain Reduction
Dual image versions (uneditied scans in 24bit TIF format in addition to the edited version of image files in either JPEG of TIF (depending on what is ordered)
Free small image version (800x600 ) of all images
Digital contact sheet in PDF format
Maximum of 1 folders for every 25 images. Additional folders are $4.00 each Mold and Mildew can also present problems.
As an optional service, we can also transfer your scanned images into a DVD Video Slide Show. Pricing for this option is conveniently located on the scanning order form. Customers that select this option will receive the individual scanned images on CD or Data DVD in addition to receiving the standalone DVD SlideShow for TV viewing. The DVD Video Slide Show is not available with our Bronze II service.
ADVISORY
Larsen Digital will never send your film to another country for scanning.
When searching for a reputable company to transfer and preserve your irreplaceable memories make sure that they won't be sending your film to another country to take advantage of cheap labor rates.
Several relatively new film scanning companies such as BritePix and ScanCafe have popped up overnight which are sending the film to India, Costa Rica, and other countries to have the work done. This practice explains the "too good to be true" pricing.
We Digitize Your Memories by transferring all of your precious memories to digital on CDs and DVDs.
